Director: Sean Melnick

Sean Melnick

On the back of a mutually successful business relationship spanning several decades, Sean joined Clive Nates in investing into Lincoln City in 2016. Sean joined the Lincoln City board in June 2017.

Sean was born and educated in Johannesburg. He has spent his entire career in the field of investments. Five years after graduating from university, Sean founded an investment management business, Peregrine Holdings Limited, which he successfully took public in 1998.

He has overseen the growth in the group from a five person start-up to a 500 employee, wealth and asset management business today, which currently looks after the financial well-being of 11,000 families. Sean took the business private in 2020, after spending 22 years as a listed company. He continues to hold the position of director of the ultimate holding company of the Peregrine group.

He enjoys investing in good ideas and more particularly good entrepreneurial people and has been instrumental in founding or backing numerous successful initiatives over the past 25 years. He moved to London, with his wife and four children in 2008. Sean has also had communal and philanthropic involvements for the past 25 years and continues to sit on a number of philanthropic boards in South Africa as well as in the UK.

Sean is a lifelong sports fan. A Manchester United supporter from the time of their 1977 FA Cup victory over Liverpool, Sean now considers himself, first and foremost, an ardent Imps fan, since joining Clive Nates on his ownership journey.
