Sustainability

At Lincoln City, we are passionately committed to reducing our environmental footprint, building a more sustainable club and actively supporting climate-friendly initiatives. We recognise the powerful role our club plays in both the economic and social landscape of Lincoln, and we are proud to be an active stakeholder in the Lincoln Climate Commission.

Additionally, as part of the EFL Green Clubs initiative, we’re working alongside other football clubs to improve our environmental practices and create meaningful change in sports sustainability.

Quambio Sports partnership: engaging fans in sustainability

A central component of our strategy is our partnership with Quambio, a Swiss sustainability firm known for its work with organisations like the Tour de Suisse. Together, we have launched Quambio Sports to drive the club’s sustainability and innovation agenda, creating fan-focused challenges to reduce their carbon footprint. This joint venture will engage and incentivise our supporters, helping us to make sustainability a community-driven effort.

“This is an exciting opportunity for Lincoln City and their supporters to make a real difference on their journey to sustainability, with the Quambio technology just the start of what’s possible."

Ongoing initiatives at the LNER Stadium

The LNER Stadium is evolving into a greener venue, thanks to a series of initiatives that range from reducing car traffic by installing a bike station to upgrading lighting to LEDs. Recent infrastructure upgrades have helped us mitigate flood risks, while ongoing projects like rainwater harvesting, pitch irrigation recycling, and exploring solar PV installation further strengthen our resilience against climate change.

Community-focused sustainability

We believe in extending our sustainability commitment beyond the stadium walls. Recently, players, staff and partners joined local residents for a community litter-pick around Sincil Bank, an initiative supported by our partners at Ellgia. Our goal is to make Lincoln a cleaner, greener city, while inspiring fans to join us on this journey.

Looking ahead

Our sustainability efforts are gaining recognition, as we were recently ranked among the top EFL clubs for sustainability in the Sport Positive League Table. We’re raising awareness about the climate crisis and strengthening our role as a community-focused, environmentally responsible club. From reducing waste and promoting green transport to innovating with Quambio Sports, Lincoln City FC is committed to being a force for positive change - now and for future generations.
