Chief executive officer: Liam Scully

Liam Scully.

Liam Scully has over 20 years of experience in football and community engagement. He began his career through an apprenticeship and worked his way up to become the Chief Executive of Lincoln City.

Liam is responsible for the Imps' day-to-day operations, leading a seven-member senior management team, and oversees more than 200 employees. Since joining Lincoln City in the summer of 2017, coinciding with the club's return to the EFL, Liam has guided the team to further success, including winning the EFL Trophy on the club's first ever visit to Wembley Stadium in its (then) 134-year history, promotion to League One as champions of League Two and a swift return to Wembley Stadium for our second ever visit, reaching the 2020-21 League One play-off final.

Before his tenure at Lincoln City, Liam spent 16 years with Doncaster Rovers and the wider Club Doncaster group. He started as an apprentice funded by the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) and advanced to roles such as Foundation Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer of the Club Doncaster Group. This group includes Doncaster Rovers, Doncaster Dons Rugby League Football Club, the (then) Keepmoat Stadium, and Club Doncaster Foundation and Sport College.

In 2007, Liam's remarkable career progression was recognised when he was inducted into the National Apprenticeship Hall of Fame. This honour acknowledges the exceptional achievements of those who began their careers in enterprise and business through an apprenticeship scheme.

In the summer of 2024, Liam was elected to the EFL Board as one of two League One representatives, a role he combines with his position as Chair of EFL in the Community, the charitable arm of the EFL.

Locally, he serves as a Trustee at Lincoln City Foundation and as Chair of the Lincoln Town Deal Board. Liam's public and private sector contributions are supported by a strong educational foundation, including a Postgraduate Certificate in Strategic Leadership from the University of Chester, a Diploma in Leadership and Management from ILM, and his completion of the Kennedy Senior Leaders training programme.
