Striker
Which seasons did you play for Lincoln City?
1997-2000
What is your favourite memory from playing for Lincoln City?
My favourite memory is being part of a great squad that managed to get promotion into League Two then now League One.
What did you enjoy most whilst living in the city of Lincoln?
I enjoyed the culture and the architecture of the city. It was a bit of a change from where I grew up in Manchester and Hull who were my previous club.
What is the funniest recollection you have from a Lincoln City football match and why?
When we played Macclesfield Town away and the game was quite feisty and well competed. During the game there was an altercation with our goalie Barry Richardson and one of their players which turned into both teams pushing each other. Not so funny but was good to see how positive the team spirit was. The funny bit was watching it back on video afterwards and seeing the players reactions.
Do you remain in contact with some of your Lincoln City team-mates or the Lincoln community?
I am currently the FPA vice-chairman so have a bit more contact with a few more players, but the main people I still speak to the most is Terry Fleming, Colin Alcide and Steve Garfoot.
Who was the most talented player that you played with for Lincoln City? And, who was the most talented player that you played against?
I have played with a lot of good players like Kevin Austin, Lee Philpott, Terry Fleming however I think Lee Thorpe was the best player I played with. The best player I played against was Danny Gabbidon who played for Cardiff City.
What are your thoughts on the growth of the city and the football club when you visit now?
The rise and growth of the universities in the city has increased the diversity in the city. The good recruitment of players and especially the right managers at the right time have been great for the club too. Hopefully the current head coach can keep the good feeling and progression going.
