Brogan Pugh felt pride in the character the Imps showed to come from 1-0 down to beat Leafield Athletic.
City showed great application after falling behind to Gwen Horgan’s 56th minute strike to come back via goals from Lucy Farrow and Ella Tuplin.
Pugh said: “Our character is massive for us. One thing we pride ourselves on is that we work hard for each other and dig in deep when we need to.
“Our character really showed, and that’s what’s going to help us in this league and it helped us against Leafield."
The full-back along with fellow substitutes Jemima Footitt and Ella Tuplin changed the game for City and ultimately guided the team to a 2-1 win.
Pugh said: “We came in at half-time and we knew that something needed to change.
“We had a long break because of Christmas, so we knew it would be a battle today but we dug in and we made the right substitutions and we made the changes that got us the result in the end.”
