Ella Thompson-Moulding hopes she can continue to contribute goals after scoring her second of the season in a 3-2 defeat to Boldmere St Michaels.
The defender got City back on level terms in the first half with a dominant header, but the Mikes ultimately claimed the points with a late header of their own.
Thompson-Moulding said: “I think I’m quite good in the air so hopefully a few more of them will come. I’ve scored a couple already from headers, so hopefully I can contribute with more this season.
“I’m happy to get the goal, but just disappointed to not get the points.”
Thompson-Moulding felt that the Imps’ previous experience playing Boldmere this season helped them in making the score-line much closer.
She added: “I think it helped playing them a few weeks ago, I think we read them a bit better, and knew a bit more of what they were going to do, and we got two good goals, so that’s a positive to take.
“I think we did limit Gabby Maia a bit more whereas last time she scored a hat-trick - so there’s positives to take from that for sure.”
The Imps are back in action on Sunday 24 September at Sutton Coldfield Town.
