Lee Mitchell is hopeful that City have learned from their 3-0 defeat to Boldmere St Michaels in the FAWNL Cup determining round.
A hat-trick from Gabby Maia means that the Imps will participate in the FAWNL Plate for the season.
Mitchell said: “It’s not all doom and gloom, there were a lot of positives, we had a really good 20-minute spell when we took the game to them.
“We’ve got a lot of notes, and we will make the changes ready for when we play them in the league. We just need to ensure that we take lessons away from the match.”
The Imps were unfortunate not to score, with Millie Quaintance hitting the post and Maddi Green having two good opportunities.
“Going into the break 2-0 down, we still fancied it based on the opportunities that we created - but we have to take those when they come along.
“Boldmere defended their box superbly, they threw everything at the ball, so that was the difference on this occasion.”
