Lincoln City Women rounded off their pre-season schedule with a convincing 3-0 win over Hull United.
The start of the match was quite a scrappy affair, with neither side able to fashion out any clear cut chances.
City clicked into gear in the 23rd minute though as Leah Hardy found space behind the Hull defence and finished powerfully past the United goalkeeper.
Hull came close to a quick response a few minutes later when a slip at the back allowed the visiting striker a clear sight of goal, but she shot wide with just Lana Timson to beat.
The Imps pushed for a second with both Summa Betts and Hardy taking aim from distance, but the attempts were comfortable for the Hull shot-stopper.
With the half coming to a close, City doubled their lead.
A high cross into the box was met by Brogan Pugh who finished superbly, sending a volley into the top left corner.
After the break the visitors attempted to find a way back into the game, with Timson being forced into a good save at her near post.
Chances were few and far between as the Imps controlled the tempo, and they wrapped up the victory with 15 minutes left to play.
A mazy run from Ella Moulding-Thompson down the left wing pushed City forward.
The full-back laid the ball off to Hardy, but her shot took a deflection and landed back into the path of Moulding-Thompson who beat the ‘keeper from close range.
The game ended in very unfortunate circumstances as one of the Hull United players had to be stretchered off after sustaining a serious injury.
