Solihull Moors 1 Imps 2

Lee Mitchell was full of praise for his determined players after they fought back to claim an impressive win at Solihull Moors on Sunday.

City trailed at the interval through Becky Knight’s header, but fought back to claim a second straight league victory.

Lucy Farrow levelled early in the second period, latching onto a fantastic through-ball from Sinead Fletcher, before Chantelle Robinson claimed all three points with a stunning half-volley from outside the area.

Mitchell said: “We say it week in and week out about this team, but the players were superb and put in a dominant second half performance to come away wit the win.

“The players never gave up, even when we had to play the final 12 minutes with 10 players. The confidence is high and the performances are consistent.”

The victories over Northampton Town and Solihull give City plenty of belief as they head into a tantalising derby match in the Lincolnshire County Cup final on Sunday.
