Lee Mitchell is excited for the stern test Northampton Town will bring on Sunday afternoon.
The Imps enter the fixture in high spirits after collecting points in their previous two outings, most notably against league-leaders Stourbridge, and are keen for a strong end to their season.
Mitchell said: “Northampton Town are flying high at the moment and with their results they have slowly but surely climbed the table. They are in good, winning form and we are expecting nothing else other than a tough test.
“First and foremost for us is to secure staying in this league, but it’s about finishing as strong as we can and being ready for the following season. The hard work we put in now we can take into the new campaign and so everyone is focussed on a strong end to the season.”
City’s manager has also expressed the excitement within the group to play at the club’s Elite Performance Centre: a pitch which he believes will help bring the best out of his squad in front of a bumper crowd.
He added: “We are a footballing side and while we do well on most pitches, we play our best on the quality pitch we can expect from the EPC. The players we have are technical so that surface will be fantastic for us.
“We show what sort of football we can play when we have that surface and the players will be excited. We had a positive result last time we were there, so we hope for that again.
“We played there before and we had good support that weekend so with it being Easter weekend, getting supporters down will make a huge difference. In return, hopefully we will play a good entertaining game with the sort of football we know we can play.”
