City captain Amy Kay has promised a reaction following Sunday’s exit from the Vitality Women’s FA Cup.
The Imps were beaten 3-1 at Moorlands, and Kay offered up no excuses.
She said: “We have to put it behind us otherwise we’ll be in trouble in the league as well - we’ve got to shake ourselves off and get on with it.
“We haven’t had a great season but that’s no excuse, and the players and staff know it. We win or lose as a team, and every single person in the changing room will be disappointed.”
City are scheduled to be back in league action with a trip to Northampton Town on Sunday 6 November.
She said: “We’ve got to look in the mirror and get back into league action because the league takes no prisoners.
“We have to dust ourselves off, get back into training, and correct it in our next game.”
