Jovon Makama signed a professional contract with City in May 2021 having joined the club as a scholar from Derby County. 

The young forward joined Northern Premier League side Gainsborough Trinity on loan for the 2021/22 season.

Jovon has made over 50 appearances for the Imps and scored his first senior goal for the Imps in a 3-0 Papa Johns Trophy win at Barnsley at the end of August 2022.
