Sean Roughan signed his first professional contract with the Imps in July 2020 following an impressive first year at the club as a scholar. 

The defender has made international appearances for Ireland U17s, U19s, and has also featured for the U21s.

In January 2022, Roughan joined SSE Airtricity League Premier Division side Drogheda United on loan.

Since his return in the summer of 2022, Roughan has made himself a first team regular making over 80 appearances for the club. 

At the end of the 2023/24 season Sean was awarded with the Young Player of the Season award.
