As part of Volunteers Week students from Mary Knox audited over 10,000 seats to help City with their pre-season preparations.

Pupils spent the morning checking every seat inside the LNER Stadium to flag any damage or deterioration to the Imps’ operations team.

As part of their day students were also treated to a tour of the stadium, and were given insights into pitch maintenance and how a football club prepares operationally for a new campaign.

The youngsters finished the day by enjoying some cake provided by the Original Cake Company in the brand new Co-op Community Hub.

Staff from BT Openreach also aided the Imps this week by helping City’s maintenance team with a multitude of tasks around the stadium.

The workers jet washed and hoovered the stands as part of their community payback, and also helped out with other aspects of stadium preparation.

All the work done by the volunteers has made a massive difference in helping make sure that the club will be ready for the 2024/25 season.
