Sam Tillen was pleased with the attacking threat City showed in their most recent pre-season game against Saffron Dynamo.
Bola Okewoye and Dakara Wifa were on the scoresheet as the young Imps ran out 2-0 victors in their penultimate pre-season friendly.
Tillen said: “We started very well and created a number of good chances. We attacked and counter-pressed well and were rewarded for our high tempo start.
“After we went two up we dropped our tempo and the dynamism we started with slowed. This suited Saffron and although we dominated possession we didn’t produce enough quality to increase our advantage.”
Tillen thought Dynamo provided his side with a good test ahead of the 24/25 season opener against Wrexham.
He continued: “Saffron provided us with the test of breaking down a low block and their strength on set pieces was great and that’s something we’ll learn from and it’ll help us develop.”
