Tendayi Darikwa captains the Imps for the first time as they take on Manchester City U21 for a place in the knockout stages of the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.
Darikwa is one of two players who retains their place in the starting XI from Saturday’s draw at Bristol Rovers. Among the notable names in the starting line-up are Jamie Pardington and Zane Okoro, who make their first competitive starts.
Head coach Michael Skubala said: “We know it’ll be tough because they’ve got some of the best players in the world at youth level and are very strong at this age group.
“We want to go through. but this has been particularly difficult with players out through suspension, injury or international duty.
“We have to manage some minutes - we don’t want to risk players, but everyone will play a part and we’ve got a really strong bench depending on how the game plays out.”
