Imps head coach Michael Skubala thanked supporters for the way they backed his side against Stevenage.
City looked much more like themselves in the second half at the LNER Stadium, with only a raised assistant’s flag after Lewis Montsma had forced the ball home denying them all three points.
It was definitely something to build on for Skubala’s men, who picked up a point and a clean sheet.
He said: “In the second half in particular we were more like ourselves with more intensity and getting on the front foot, and the fans played a big part in pushing us on during that part of the game.
“I liked how we tried to push the game and I can’t knock the lads’ effort - they’re trying hard and so long as we keep up that effort we’ll get back to where we want to be.”
Skubala is well aware goals need to be added to performances in order to convert them into points, but feels his side are not far away from that.
He added: “When chances come along it feels like we’re snapping at them a bit, but you have to remember they are young lads up front.
“I liked how we tried to play front footed football and tried to get behind them. We were trying to take the game to them in the second half, which was a real positive.”
