City head coach Michael Skubala was pleased to pick up a point at Peterborough United on Saturday, but felt his side could have won on the day too.
Ben House's goal during the first half put the Imps ahead but the Posh levelled through Kwame Poku during the second period, as the scores ended level.
Skubala said: "I think it was a brilliant game of football with two teams set up tactically to try and stop each other playing, but hurt each other as well.
"Both sides wanted to win the game, and I felt we had moments when we could have won it.
"We know how they like to play, in a way where they dominate the ball, but we thought we could hurt them.
"We're disappointed not to have won, but that shows how far we've come as a group, as they'll take points off other teams here. We'll take a lot of growth from it, though, and I always say, if you can't win, don't lose at places like this, so we'll go again.
"It was a fantastic goal (from House) and the lads worked the ball really well. The way we pressed them in the first half was good and we knew if we'd lock them in there we'd get half chances."
George Wickens was substituted midway through the second half after taking a knock, and Skubala said: "George was shook up but he's fine. He's going with Kieran Walker (head of medical) and the doctors now for testing to make sure there's no concussion.
"He has to get monitored now. The first thing is safety. The testing will take a few days and we'll make sure we look after him first and foremost."
