City head coach Michael Skubala felt the point gained by his side in the away Sky Bet League One game at Bristol Rovers was a fair one.
Jack Moylan netted a second-half equaliser to secure a 1-1 draw at the Memorial Stadium, cancelling out Shaq Forde’s opener.
Skubala said: "In the first half we started too slowly, and not how we like to begin a game. They kept putting it on us and turning us, and we couldn't get up the pitch and playing the game in their half. We weren't at our best in the opening half, there were too many loose touches and we were too slow at times. We tried to make good decisions but the execution wasn't quite there.
"Then I felt in the second half we were the team who looked like we could go and win it. I feel if we scored first in that game, we had enough to go on and win it, but across the whole match I think it was a fair point.
"This isn't an easy place to go to so the character to come here and dig out a point on the road is really good. We're still growing and trying to be better, but we must start matches better."
Talking about the impact of Moylan, who came on as a substitute to level, he added: "When Jack Moylan comes on, he affects the game. He looked a threat, he was brave and did well when he came on.
"The most important thing is when they do get their moments they show it. It was a great finish and got us a point on the road."
