City head coach Michael Skubala praised the team's all-round performance after their 4-1 home win over Mansfield Town on Saturday.

Adam Jackson's brace, along with goals from Sean Roughan and Ben House, propelled the Imps to their first home victory of the 24/25 season.

Skubala said: "It was a brilliant result and a great response to last week (against Barnsley) where we played really well but didn't get the result. I felt we did really well today. The tactical plan was to try and catch them in transition, using our intensity and speed at the right moments, and I really liked the look of us today.

"In the later stages of the first half, I felt we blew them away. It was a really good team performance overall.

"Mansfield are a good team who went to Barnsley and got a result. They're physical, big and are a threat, but we had to hurt them in transition. I felt the two up front for us looked electric and a real threat.

"We work really hard on set-pieces with the lads because it's a big part of football, and I felt we attacked the set-pieces really well today."

The head coach added: "I felt we took responsibility a lot and blew them away with our intensity.

"We talk about starting fast and quick, and we've done that in every game. We killed it for them at the start of the second half (with the way the team started, scoring twice in quick succession).

"It doesn't matter to me who scores. We could have had more really. This group has so much more to go as well because we can be better in certain moments. There's a long way to go and we want to make sure this is a tough place to come to, so we can pick up points. When we're us, aggressive and play with intensity, we're a tough team to play against."
