City assistant head coach Tom Shaw spoke of his delight after the 2-0 away win at Cambridge United.
Goals from Freddie Draper and Bailey Cadamarteri sealed victory, as the Imps set a new club record of 13 unbeaten away games in the league.
Shaw said: "There were some lovely traits within our group to win this game away from home. Cambridge have some threats and we knew we'd have to show some grit, resillience and determination. There were then a couple of bits of real quality for the goals.
"It was not far off a complete away performance. We're delighted with all the lads and got our rewards on the day.
"There were moments where we showed some high-end technical work. We can't ask any more of what the players have given.
"We feel the energy from the supporters, from the warm-up onwards they got behind the players. The lads felt it, we started brightly and had a really good afternoon."
Shaw spoke about Ben House, who was substituted early after a collision with the home goalkeeper, while praising the impact of substitutes Draper and Cadamarteri.
He added: "Housey is so brave. He got in there not thinking about the goalkeeper, but he took one in the face. It looks like it's his nose but we will assess it. Freddie came on and his contribution was terrific.
"We're delighted for Bailey. He's a real tryer, his first touch was superb and it was perhaps a scruffy finish but you take them. It's good for our frontline."
