Sam Tillen was pleased with his side’s performance as they extended their league unbeaten run to six games.
The young Imps have not lost a game in the Youth Alliance since an opening day defeat to Wrexham and made sure they continued that trend with a battling 1-1 draw away from home against Rochdale U18.
Tillen said: “It’s a good point. It was an early start and we have one more point than we left with so I think we always have to acknowledge that and take it as a positive.
“It was a decent game, we probably created more chances than them and looked more of a threat, especially in the second half.”
Tillen praised young defender Lewy Oliver, who put City ahead just before half-time with a header at the back post following a ball into the box from his brother, Denny.
He added: “We’re a team that always wants to push for a win but in terms of our defensive shape, we looked quite solid.
"Lewy did very well, he’s had two games in a week with the 18s and got a goal off an assist from his brother so it was a great day for him.
“On days like this sometimes when you don’t win, you have to make sure you don’t lose and that’s what we’ve done and we look forward to Rotherham next Saturday.”
