City’s new Swedish wing-back Erik Ring visited the children at John Spendluffe College in Alford earlier this month to deliver a presentation on the Imps’ popular Attendance4Attendance programme.
Alongside Danny Carter, head of sport and physical activity at the Foundation, Erik spoke to the students about the importance of their attendance at school and how it will benefit them in achieving both their personal and professional goals.
The session provided students with valuable insight into what it takes to succeed both on and off the pitch.
Headteacher of John Spendluffe College Simon Curtis said: “Erik was really engaging, informative and connected brilliantly with the students. I’m sure they will take a lot away from his visit.”
The Attendance4Attendance aims to reward dedication to education with the excitement of witnessing the Imps at the LNER Stadium. The programme has proven to be an effective incentive, encouraging students to prioritise their attendance and engagement in their studies.
The success of the scheme was evident last season, with participating schools reporting increased attendance.
Ermine Primary Academy's vice principal Jenna Richards commented: "It's been really nice to have a way to remind our students about attendance and the reward that is coming all term.
“Children who attended the matches were really enthused about what they had witnessed and sought me out to give me the match rundowns."
Additionally, participating schools will receive gold memberships every term across the 24/25 season. These memberships are transferable and can be used to recognise by schools to reward good behaviours and attitudes.
Schools within the Lincoln area interested in joining the Attendance4Attendance initiative for the upcoming season are encouraged to sign up today. For more information and to register, please email A4A@theredimps.com.
