Erik Ring heralded the Imps as a ‘strong group’ after his thunderous effort from the edge of the box helped City fight-back from an early two-goal deficit to book their spot in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup.
The Swede took advantage of a bouncing ball after a long throw was not properly cleared and produced a fantastic finish to leave the Crawley ‘keeper with no chance.
Ring said: “It wasn’t a good start, but we’ve shown in previous games that we’re a strong group and we can come back in games, and we did it again, hopefully we won’t have to do that in the future though as we want to take the lead.
“It was a good strike, it went straight in the middle of the goal so it must’ve had some power on it.”
Ring was happy with the contributions of all of his team-mates, giving a special shout-out to the substitutes who helped secure progression.
He added: “I’m happy with everyone in the team, including the guys that came on off the bench, they came on and impacted the game.”
City are on the road at Rotherham United on Tuesday night, book your ticket HERE.
