Parks praises character of Imps team-mates

City's U18s gather during the away FA Youth Cup game at Plymouth Argyle

Charlie Parks reflected on City’s FA Youth Cup campaign after a fourth round exit to Plymouth Argyle on penalties.

The young defender praised the character of his team-mates to come back from two goals down after efforts from Zane Okoro and 14-year-old Jaxon Tomak got the Imps back on level terms.

Parks said: “I’m really proud of them. It’s the worst way to go out, the lads played so well with the desire to dig in and get back into the game.

“It shows what we’re made of as a team to come from two goals down. Every lad that’s played a part this season in the Youth Cup like Jaxon, everyone coming on tonight, Denny scoring at Bolton. It’s memories that will last forever.”

Parks wants the team to learn from the experience they’ve gained from the Youth Cup campaign that equalled the club’s record.

He added: “It’s what I said in the changing room, everyone will learn from this. It will make everyone a better player than they were before the game.”
