Denny Oliver believes his exposure to the first team environment is helping his development.
Oliver was named amongst the substitutes for the first time in a senior matchday squad in City’s 2-1 Bristol Street Motors Trophy victory against Grimsby Town and the midfielder described the experience as a big learning curve.
He said: “Obviously I didn’t manage to get on but just being around the team and in that environment is a big learning curve to see what the professional game is like and it’s great to be the one that is asked to go with the first team.”
Oliver thinks the time he’s spent around the first team squad and the senior pros is helping him learn and improve as player.
He continued: “The players are all really helpful, and if they notice things in training they’re eager to help and give you a helping hand to get through it and learn.
"The main things to learn is about the intensity - the training is honestly another level.”
