Zane Okoro was pleased to score his first goal of the 24/25 campaign as City beat Morecambe away from home.

Okoro scored City’s opening goal as they went on to win the game 2-1 with an added time winner. The forward was pleased with the team performance and his goal.

He said: “It was an overwhelming game, but it was a good performance. We saw out the match, pulled through and got three points, which is good.”

“Dakara Wifa drove in, I trust him with his 1v1 ability so I knew where to be at the right time. It was the first one of the season, hopefully there’s many more to come.”

Okoro and Gbolahan Okewoye were both on the scoresheet and put in instrumental performances for Sam Tillen’s side and Okoro believes his relationship with the midfielder is helping the pair perform well.

He said: “Me and Gbolahan really understand each other’s game. We’re really good friends off the pitch so on the pitch that helps a lot. We know how to play with each other, link up play and we’ve built up a really good connection.”
