Okoro delighted with cup progression

Zane Okoro was delighted with City’s progression to the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup following their 4-2 win over Wrexham.

The Imps’ winger picked up two goals and set up another as Sam Tillen’s side scored four against the Welsh outfit at the LNER Stadium.

He said: “The lads fought hard from minute one, I thought it was deserved from our performance, and we are glad to be through to the next round.

“I just picked it up in midfield and tried to be direct and positive. That's what I’m trying to evolve my game around, be positive, be direct and exciting to watch. I played it to Kelly Fombad, he played it back in, and I saw that the right side of the goal was open, so I hit it with my left foot.”

On his penalty, he added: “I just try to stay calm, take deep breaths, I always back myself to put the ball in the back of the net.

“We aren’t worried about who we draw next, we are just focused on ourselves, and our preparations for that match. Whoever it is, we can't change the outcome, and we are looking forward to it.”
