City continued preparations for the 2024/25 campaign with a behind closed doors friendly against Norwich U21.

Minutes were shared between the squad at the Lotus Training Centre, with goals coming from Jovon Makama and Dom Jefferies.

The Imps tested the Norwich goalkeeper inside the opening five minutes - JJ McKiernan stole the ball away from a defender and found Tom Bayliss, whose strike from the edge of the area was saved.

Dylan Duffy delivered a dangerous set piece into the box from just inside the Imps half, but Adam Jackson’s header was straight at the keeper.

Duffy was once again at the centre of City’s attacking play, putting Makama in behind the Norwich defence with the latter finding McKiernan whose shot was saved.

Makama put the keeper under pressure, forcing the ball into the back of the net to put City into the lead after 18 minutes.

Norwich equalised after 33 minutes following a quick break, which saw a home attacker round the goalkeeper.

After some neat play down the right hand side, Rob Street forced a save from the Norwich keeper, before Freddie Draper’s rebound was also saved.

After some neat play in the middle, Tom Hamer whipped a ball towards the back post which was met by Jefferies to put City back into the lead.

Street and Jack Moylan linked up down the right before the latter fired wide of a post. Moylan almost extended City’s lead a few minutes later but had his shot saved by the Norwich keeper.

City continued to push and corner was pulled back to the edge of the box, before Jefferies’ strike whistled over the bar.

A ball into the channel from MJ Kamson-Kamara found Draper who pulled his shot wide of a post.
