Jack Moylan was impressed with the Imps’ perseverance as they responded from conceding the opening goal at the Memorial Stadium to claim a hard-earned point.
The Irishman came off the bench in the second period and made an immediate impact, cutting inside his marker before arrowing a finish into the bottom right corner.
He said: “You can’t feel sorry for yourself when you don’t start, you need to channel it and do the business on the pitch.
“When you come on all you can do is try and affect the game and that’s what I set out to do.”
City pushed for a winner in the closing stages and looked the more likely, with Moylan pleased to see the endeavour that his side showed to push for the three points.
He added: “If we come away with a win there that’s exactly what we’re about and I felt we could’ve nicked it towards the end - we had our chances.
“We didn’t get beaten, we didn’t fall over, when we went one-nil down we didn’t cave in or give up, we came back and showed what we’re about.”
