Lewis Montsma was thrilled to make a comeback to the LNER Stadium and thanked the fans for their support.
Montsma made his first appearance at City’s home stadium since March 2023 and marked his return with a goal to level the scores as the Imps came from behind to beat Arsenal U21.
He said: “To score felt special, especially because it was in front of the fans.
“When I came on and when I scored, I felt the love I’ve been getting throughout the whole time I’ve been here so it was a very nice moment.”
Montsma was pleased with City’s final run-out of pre-season with the Imps' first game of the 24/25 campaign against Burton Albion less than a week away.
He added: “It was another good pre-season game, good for the lads. It’s always tough against academy sides but I thought we did well overall - especially in the second half.”
