Lewis Montsma described a feeling of pride after his first league start since March 2023.
The 25-year-old was named in a league starting eleven for the first time in 581 days as City came from behind to beat Stockport County.
He said: “It’s been a long graft to get myself where I am now. I’m very happy to be back, I feel like it’s been coming, so I’m very happy and proud of myself and the team.”
Ben House and Bailey Cadamarteri were on the scoresheet as City returned to winning ways with Montsma highlighting the importance of bouncing back.
He said: “It was very important. That’s how you bounce back from the game on Tuesday. We did very well.
“How we started and how confident we were on the ball was a big difference from the Crawley game and that’s what helped us.”
