Conor McGrandles is excited for City’s first game of pre-season on Friday against Preston North End.
McGrandles is looking forward to taking on North End after him and the side spent the past week in Spain for a warm weather training camp.
He said: “I’m really looking forward to it. In the off-season you’re itching to get back into training and once you get back you’re itching for the first game, so the boys have enjoyed the prep this week and hopefully end it with a good game.
“In the first match back it’s not going to be perfect, most of it is about match fitness, implementing the stuff the manager has worked with us on. You always want to win these games, even if it is a friendly - but the most important thing is match minutes.”
A number of City fans are expected at the Pinatar Arena on Friday morning and McGrandles is hoping the team can put in a good performance to reward the travelling crowd.
He continued: “We’re buzzing that they've managed to make their way out here, hopefully we can put in a good performance and they can enjoy the game."
