Jack Moylan in action against Oldham.

The Imps had another productive pre-season workout as they drew 0-0 at Oldham Athletic.

City started positively at Boundary Park and could’ve taken the lead after just three minutes after Bola Okewoye won possession from the defence before chipping his effort over an onrushing goalkeeper and the wrong side of the right post.

The Imps looked comfortable in possession and had another opportunity in the 13th minute as Trialist A picked out Jack Moylan in the box who saw his first-time shot deflected wide of the right post.

It was Moylan who was involved again moments later after he picked up the ball from the short corner before wriggling his way into the box and flashing one across the face of goal.

The Imps continued to mount pressure and created a neat move in the 17th minute which saw Moylan find the bending run of Freddie Draper who could only strike against the legs of Mathew Hudson in the Oldham goal.

The hosts first real effort of the afternoon came in the 21st minute after Mark Kitching found space down the left to cross in for Mike Fondop who placed his free header just over the crossbar.

Oldham began to grow into the half and they threatened from a corner on the 30-minute mark when Josh Lundstram pulled the ball to Shaun Hobson on the edge of the six-yard box who steered an effort narrowly wide of the left post.

The first chance of the second half went the way of the Latics as Charlie Raglan rose highest to meet a cross in from the left but the frontman failed to find the target.

After wholesale changes for the Imps on the hour mark Dylan Duffy sent a deep cross in for Ben House who struck the ball against the left post, however the frontman was flagged offside.

City looked to impose themselves on the match after making the changes as JJ McKiernan picked out the darting run Tendayi Darikwa on the right who was denied by a sliding tackle from a trialist.

Jes Uchebulam's free-kick almost caught Jeacock off guard in the closing stages as it skipped off the surface, but the goalie managed to get enough on it to keep the score level.
