City return to the LNER Stadium for the visit of Burton Albion on Saturday afternoon (3pm KO).

Read what head coach Michael Skubala and midfielder Tom Bayliss had to say ahead of the game, as well as catch up on all the important match information in this match preview.

Michael Skubala:

"In the second half on Tuesday we looked in control and it turned out to be a really good performance. Now it’s about going again and doing that on Saturday against a Burton Albion team that have won three in their last six and a couple of draws. They’re definitely on the rise, so we’ve got to put a performance together

“Gary Bowyer has used all his experience in league football and turned them around since he’s came in. He’s made them harder to beat, without the ball they have a lot more structure defensively - they’re not as open as a team.”

Tom Bayliss:

“I want goals and assists to be part of my game, I haven’t had too many goals this year but it’s something I would like to add to my game and I want to finish the season strongly with as many numbers as I can get which will only help the team.

“Since I’ve been back from my injury, I’ve been in and out of the team. Now for me it’s about staying in, helping the team and affecting games, and that’s what I’m trying really hard to do. For us now towards the end of the season it’s about collecting as many points as we can and seeing where we finish. It’s been a bit up and down at the minute but consistency will be the key now.”

A look at the opposition:

Burton Albion are the second longest serving side in Sky Bet League One having spent seven years in the division since their relegation from the Championship in the 2017/18 campaign and sit 21st in the table after 32 games.

After signing a record-breaking 23 players in the summer, the Brewers recruited six new faces in January, including former Imp James Jones. Gary Bowyer took charge at the Pirelli Stadium in December and has won four of his 13 matches in charge, including a 1-0 away win at Stevenage on Tuesday night.

In the reverse fixture City came out 3-2 winners thanks to a brace from Paudie O'Connor and a debut goal from Tendayi Darikwa.

Match information:

Reubyn Ricardo will be the man in the middle and he will be assisted by Jack Nield and Jonathon Wyatt. Melissa Burgin has been assigned the role of fourth official.
