City host fellow League One side Bolton Wanderers in the Vertu Trophy Round of 16 stage on Tuesday night (7pm KO).
Read what head coach Michael Skubala and defender Adam Jackson had to say ahead of the tie and catch up on all the important match information.
Skubala’s thoughts:
"We will put a team out that can challenge and capable of getting through to the next round of this cup. Bolton are a really good outfit and they have got strength in depth and they are going to try and push to do what they did last season, so they will have the strength in depth to change.
"When teams get to this part of the competition, everyone wants to get through because you are closer to Wembley, and it is important to the club. We need to keep focus and do what we did in the second half against Birmingham and keep those performances going.
“We have tweaked and changed at times, but we want to get back to how we want to look and how aggressive we want to be with and without the ball, and at times that’s not always pretty.
"We thought we needed to move in the right direction, but we never really changed. If we follow the process and we work hard on the training pitch, which we do every day, the results will come."
Jackson’s take:
“It has been good to get back into training over the past two or three weeks. I feel good again - I'm much fitter and I’m ready.
“We have got a great group of lads. Even when you're not in training the lads are around you which is great.
"On Saturday in the second half, we were good, but we have had some good performances in the last month that haven't produced the results they deserved so we know we are close. We need to keep working hard and we know we will get there.
“If we can reproduce that kind of performance on Tuesday then it gives us a good chance to get through to the next round of the cup and we can build a bit of momentum."
