Paudie O'Connor celebrates scoring in the 3-0 away win at Mansfield Town

Sam Clucas' first goal in Lincoln City colours helped Michael Skubala's side to a memorable victory at Mansfield Town.

Club captain Paudie O'Connor and Dom Jefferies were the other goal scorers in the victory at the One Call Stadium.

City head coach Michael Skubala made four changes to the side that took on Leyton Orient at the weekend. Defender Tendayi Darikwa returns to the squad after the birth of his child during the week. The other three changes see Adam Jackson, Tom Bayliss and James Collins return to the starting eleven.

City keeper Zach Jeacock was called into action after four minutes, blocking Town's Stephen McLaughlin's strike from inside the box with his feet.

City replied four minutes later as on his return to the starting XI, Tom Bayliss stung the palms of Christy Pym with a right-footed shot at the near post. From the resulting corner, James Collins had a free header saved from point blank range and deflected wide for a second corner.

Club captain Paudie O'Connor was the man to rise highest at the front post to flick home a header past Pym, and into the back of the net on nine minutes.

Michael Skubala's side thought they had doubled their lead on 18 minutes when Reeco Hackett's strike on the left found the back of the net, but the goal was disallowed for an offside according to the assistant.

A Mansfield cross to the back post looked destined to be tapped home by McLaughlin but a crucial touch from Bayliss ensured the full-back would not get the chance to find the net.

The Imps started the second half brightly with Paudie O'Connor flicking another header wide, two minutes after the restart.

Mansfield skipper Louis Reed had an effort fly over Jeacock's bar on 58 minutes as the Stags looked for an equaliser.

Jovon Makama picked up a booking with just under 25 minutes to play after a foul in the Stags' penalty area was deemed one too many by referee Aaron Bannister. Makama was next to have an effort on 68 minutes, but his strike was high and wide at the near post.

City doubled their lead on 84 minutes when substitute Sam Clucas' corner from the right curled into the far corner in front of the 1,400 travelling supporters.

Skubala's side added a third in the 89th minute to complete the scoring through the work of three substitutes. Ethan Hamilton made up ground in the Mansfield half before finding Draper. His cross found Dom Jefferies who at the second time of asking made no mistake.
