Jefferies pleased with team's fight

Lincoln City's Dom Jefferies celebrates his goal against Mansfield Town

Midfielder Dom Jefferies was pleased with the side's fight during the 3-0 win at Mansfield Town on Tuesday night.

The Welshman came on as a substitute at the One Call Stadium and rounded off the scoring in the 89th minute, after combining with fellow substitutes Freddie Draper and Ethan Hamilton.

Jefferies was delighted with the performance. He said: "It was brilliant. A 3-0 win, obviously Saturday was tough to take but we have bounced back so well from the game after conceding late and put on a great performance.

"All the boys had so much fight after going 2-0 down at Orient. People could think that the game is done. We came back in the second half and scored two goals and the game could have gone either way which just shows the fight that we got as a team. Tonight we dug in for each other and got the result we wanted."

Skubala's substitutes made a difference with Sam Clucas and Jefferies adding to Paudie O'Connor's opener. Jefferies was pleased with their impact.

He said: "We need fresh legs all around the pitch when people start to tire. I came on did my job and did what I had to do. I don't score much, so I have to take the chances when I can and run away with a smile on my face. It was brilliant."

City return to action on Saturday 22 February when Burton Albion are the visitors to the LNER Stadium. Back the boys by securing your tickets HERE
