Adam Jackson thought City showed sizeable determination to battle to a 1-1 draw at the Weston Homes Stadium.
12 minutes of injury time were added on at the end of the match, and the centre-back was pleased to see that the Imps did not lose their focus as they secured a valuable point on the road.
Jackson said: “It was a long shift, but all the pre-season work came out at that moment and we stuck in at the end.
“We’re a little disappointed after going 1-0 up, but a point's never a bad result here.”
City took the lead in the 33rd minute after Ben House finished off a fantastic team move, and Jackson felt the goal reflected what Michael Skubala wanted from his side.
He continued: “The gaffer always says to us, when you get in the opposition final third, stay in there, use the ball and keep putting them under pressure. We moved it from side to side really well and it was a great finish from Housey.
“He deserved the goal, his work rate was phenomenal. The shift he puts in, he deserved that.”
