Sam Tillen highlighted the way his side embraced the physical challenge against Rotherham United.
Dakara Wifa and Dan Vanderpuye were on the scoresheet against Rotherham as the young Imps came from behind to win 2-1 and extend their unbeaten league run to seven games.
Tillen said: “It was a very pleasing performance. Rotherham are a physically imposing team who are direct and focus heavily on set pieces and getting the ball into the box so I was delighted in the manner the players took on the challenge.”
Tillen was pleased with the way his side defended against a direct Rotherham side to secure three points which keeps the young Imps in the top three of the Youth Alliance.
He added: “We defended resolutely, statistically dominating the first and second contacts and this allowed us to lay the foundations. We managed the game well after taking the lead and ultimately deserved the three points.”
