Imps U18 5 Shrewsbury Town U18 1

Lincoln City U18 players celebrate a goal. There are eight players, all wearing red shirts and black shorts. They are stood on a grass pitch and in the background is a building.

U18 head coach Sam Tillen is pleased with his side’s mentality after they extended their unbeaten league run to eight games with victory over Shrewsbury Town.

A Zane Okoro hat-trick, joined by goals from Dakara Wifa and Carter Ford, ensured the Imps took a deserved three points after another positive display at the Elite Performance Centre.

Tillen said: “I’m really pleased for the lads because they deserve that - they want to keep progressing and keep getting better.

"The mentality within the group is can we go unbeaten for more games, and can we get as many positive results as possible. That’s a really good mindset to work with.

“We performed well and from the outset we looked a real threat both in behind and in front of them. We managed to get around the sides of them and create chances.

"When you perform well confidence builds, so we need to maintain that and keep working hard.”
