Everyone at the Imps congratulates Rob Bradley who has been awarded the Freedom of the City of Lincoln.
Rob - a former club chairman and now chair of the Red Imps Community Trust - has made a significant contribution to the club over many decades, and was instrumental in saving the club when it hit financial troubles against the backdrop of the ITV Digital collapse.
He said: “I’m humbled to accept this but dedicate it to everybody who I’ve worked with and that still works at the trust, the football club and Lincolnshire Cricket. It’s always been a team effort.”
Rob formally received the honour from the City of Lincoln Council at a ceremony at the Guildhall on Tuesday, and was then surprised with a presentation ahead of the Imps' home match against Reading on Saturday.
The Jabara family - who hold the largest individual shareholding in the club - and club captain Paudie O'Connor handed over a ceremonial salver to mark the occasion before the crowd showed their appreciation through a round of applause.
A City of Lincoln Council spokesperson added: “Rob was instrumental in saving the club from administration through personal financial commitment, new initiatives, and hard work. Rob has recently been reappointed as chair of the Red Imps Community Trust and has also contributed to local sports as chair of Lincolnshire Cricket Ltd, advocating for the county at regional and national levels.”
