City celebrate Ben House's goal against Mansfield Town

City returned to winning ways with an impressive win against Mansfield Town at the LNER Stadium.

A brace from Adam Jackson as well as goals from Sean Roughan and Ben House fired the Imps to a first home victory of the 24/25 campaign.

Tom Bayliss had the first effort on target for the Imps, driving in from the left but his shot was dealt with by Christy Pym.

Conor McGrandles won a free-kick on the edge of the box after some neat play with Dom Jefferies down the right hand side. Roughan fired the following set piece over the bar.

Bayliss and Tendayi Darikwa linked up on the edge of the 18-yard area but the former’s shot was straight at Pym in the Mansfield net.

Louis Reed had a long range effort saved by George Wickens after the visitors broke forward from a City attack.

Roughan recycled a ball back into the area after a long throw, which was met by Jackson who headed City into the lead.

Paudie O’Connor smashed a shot against the crossbar after he made a drive forward and linked up with Makama.

McGrandles won City a free-kick right at the end of the half, which was curled straight into the top corner by Roughan to double the Imps’ lead.
