Charlotte Dinsdale feels her young City squad have matured since the start of the campaign as her side look ahead to Sunday’s home match against Solihull Moors.
The Imps faced a tough test in midweek against tier three Hull City but performed admirably in the second half to ensure they didn’t concede any further goals after the break.
Dinsdale said: “The game could’ve gone one of two ways at half-time and if it had gone the other way we felt we would’ve had a really difficult job coming into the back end of this week.
“We had the opposite and we were impressed as a staffing team with their reaction, and we’re hoping we can turn it on on Sunday and give them a really good game.
“We’ve matured a lot as a team and hopefully that’ll stand us in good stead and prepare us for the rest of the season.”
City have faced a tough fixture list to open the season, and Dinsdale is hoping that experience can help her side at the weekend.
She continued: “We know it’s going to be a tough game, and we’re expecting them to come fully prepared.
“Us as staff were really impressed with how the team reacted to the Hull result, certainly after taking a heavy defeat in the first half, for a young squad we showed a lot of character, and we’re putting the hard graft in the rest of the week for the game on Sunday.”
