Dylan Duffy, Sean Roughan, Freddie Draper and Rob Street were all on target as City continued their 2024/25 preparations with victory at Harrogate Town.
City started brightly, with Jovon Makama breaking through in the opening minute - with Toby Sims blocking his effort.
And a couple of minutes later a well-worked move down the left from Duffy and Tom Bayliss ended up with the ball pulled back into the area just behind Makama.
Sean Roughan had to be alert to block Stephen Duke-McKenma's shot, but the offside flag was up and the Imps took the lead almost immediately afterwards.
It was a touch of class from Duffy, who collected George Wickens' long clearance after Adam Jackson had played the resulting free-kick short to the keeper, and held off home debutant Zico Asare in the right-back slot before finishing smartly into the bottom-right corner.
The lead was doubled four minutes later, and it was a smart free-kick routine which started with Duffy faking to take the set-piece. Tom Bayliss did put the ball into the area, and it was knocked down into the path of Roughan who fired home.
Bayliss was at he centre of the early threat as he tried to score direct from a similar set-piece position after 14 minutes, with his effort going just over, and teeing up Tendayi Darikwa for a headed effort after half an hour where he just could not generate enough power to test James Belshaw.
The Imps were good value for their half-time lead having never looking in too much danger of conceding, despite the home side coming back into the game as the half progressed, with a long-range effort from George Thompson going over without worrying George Wickens.
Michael Skubala made two changes at the internal, bringing Jack Moylan and Draper on in place of JJ McKiernan and Ben House.
City had the first chance of the second period, with Bayliss sending an effort just wide.
The early chances continued to go the way of the visitors, with Ethan Erhahon lifting an
There were further changes on the hour mark. The Imps brought Rob Street on for Makama, while the home side made six substitutions.
One of those players who came on, Josh March, looped an effort wide as they injected some energy into the home side's performance.
Draper made it 3-0 with 25 minutes to go, turning home Street's low right-wing cross.
And, as the match prepared to kick-off again, every other outfield player in the squad was sent on - with Zak Bradshaw, MJ Kamara, Lewis Montsma, Tom Hamer, Jay Benn, Zane Okoro and Oisin Gallagher all coming on.
A smart finish from Street, after Okoro won the ball back on the edge of the area, made it 4-0, to complete the scoring.
