Dakara Wifa feels reaching the third round of the FA Youth Cup is just reward for the hard work put in by City's U18 side this season.

The young forward took his FA Youth Cup goal tally to five with a brace at the Toughsheet Community Stadium which helped the young Imps set up a tie with Wrexham at the LNER Stadium in round three.

He said: “It was a crazy night and the most intense game I’ve ever played in. I’m just so proud of the boys for the work they’ve put in on and off the pitch to prepare for the game.

“I saw Zane cut in at the end and I was screaming for it ,but it went to Denny Oliver who finished it excellently. Denny has done so much work off the pitch and I’m happy it’s come out in a game and everyone can see his quality.”

Wifa highlighted the levels of effort across the entire team and revealed the tight bond within the U18s group which he believes helped the young Imps to victory.

He added: “All the lads were making blocks and tackles even if they’re injured, getting up and going again. The boys put in so much effort and this is the result we deserve.

“As a group we’re so close, there’s such a good bond with each other and that comes out on the pitch.”
