Midfielder Ethan Hamilton was thrilled to receive a first start since a long-term injury lay-off in the win against Grimsby Town.
Having appeared as a second-half substitute against Leyton Orient, Hamilton got another 60 minutes in the tank in City's second match of their Bristol Street Motors Trophy group.
Hamilton said: “It was enjoyable. It’s been a long time coming and something I have been waiting for. It was good to get an hour, and I wanted to stay on at the end.
“The medical team here looks after you so well and through that recovery process they have helped me so much.
“They push you on, they don’t give you many days off, and they always push you to the maximum. I’ve done every step of the rehab, I feel brilliant and am raring to go.”
City showed great character to come from behind against their Lincolnshire rivals, and a last-gasp winner from Jack Moylan ensured that City were up and running in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.
He added: “He is an excellent player. He is capable of big moments, and can pop up with goals at any time.
“Thankfully he has put in the net which has given us a chance to progress in this tournament. We want to progress and we as a group of players and staff are taking this really seriously.”
