Carter Ford is enjoying the challenge of a position change after starting the season as a right wing-back.
After featuring mostly as a midfielder and attacking minded player last season, Ford has made the switch to the right side of defence playing in a demanding wing-back role.
He said: “It’s a new side to my game, I’m a central midfielder by trade but playing right wing-back now. It’s difficult but it’s a good challenge for me and shows the defensive and attacking side of my game.
“The coach trusts me, I just need to keep having consistent performances, getting up and down and showing what I’m about. I’ve got the physical attributes for it so now it’s just all about consistency.”
Ford played the full 90 minutes as City U18 picked up a 3-1 win in the Youth Alliance Cup.
He added: “It was a really good performance from the boys. We want to become a winning side and two wins on the bounce puts us in a good place.”
