Tendayi Darikwa was pleased with City’s second half performance as goals from Jovon Makama and Freddie Draper sealed all three points against Leyton Orient at the LNER Stadium.
After going into the break level, the Imps produced a dominant second half display and extended their league unbeaten run to seven games.
Darikwa said: “We underperformed to our standards in the first half but Leyton Orient are a good team and I don’t think their league position represents the quality they’ve got.
“We came in at half time and spoke about what we can do better and in the second half you could see the improvements to come out and get the win."
Darikwa praised young strikers Makama and Draper, both graduates of City's Academy, with the former scoring his first league goal of the 2024/25 campaign.
He said: “I’m happy for Jovon to get off the mark in the league. I think his performances have been really good and I'm sure he can keep scoring goals. It’s another goal for Freddie and a great finish.
“Jovon is young but got all the attributes to go to the top. I’m pushing him everyday as I see the potential he’s got and when he plays like that the sky’s the limit for him.”
