Supporters who wish to pay their respects to the late George Ashton are invited to join club employees at the LNER Stadium as he takes his final journey.
George’s funeral will take place at St Peter at Gowts Church at 12noon on Friday 31 May, and he will be taken around the home of his beloved Imps one final time before being laid to rest.
Club employees will provide a guard of honour in front of the SRP Stand at the LNER Stadium as the funeral cortege passes through at around 11.20am.
The procession will come down Sincil Bank, passing behind the GBM Stand, before being driven behind the Rilmac Stand and exit the footprint via Cross Street.
Anyone who wishes to join club staff as they say goodbye to George, a much-loved figure around the club thanks to his many decades of volunteer service, are welcome to do so.
Parking will be available in the Stacey West Car Park, both for those joining us for the guard of honour or for people attending the funeral itself.
